PSFBE 2022
The Department of Biology of the Ateneo de Manila University will host the 3rd Philippine Symposium on Freshwater Biodiversity and Ecosystems (PSFBE) on November 9–11, 2022 at the Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City with the theme “Challenges and prospects for freshwater science at the onset of UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration”. This conference is being organized together with the University of Santo Tomas, University of the Philippines, Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA), Department of Agriculture – National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI), Association of Systematic Biologists of the Philippines (ASBP), and BIO-PHIL: Biodiversity Teaching in a Philippine-Cambodian-German Network.
This event will serve as an avenue where participants can present newfound knowledge on the biodiversity and ecology of freshwater environments in the Philippines and the rest of tropical Asia. In addition, the conference will serve as a platform for networking with researchers on limnology, freshwater ecology, biodiversity, and conservation biology from around the world through a wide range of talks, conversations, poster sessions, and other opportunities.
This year, we are opening our doors to senior high school student participants. To honor the exemplary works of our high school participants, we have set up the Best Poster Presentation – High School Category award. Undergraduate students can present their exemplary works in the non-competing oral presentations and compete in the regular category of the poster presentations whereas graduate students can compete in both oral and poster presentations. Additionally, authors of accepted papers will be invited to submit full papers for publication in a special issue of a Philippine-based, Scopus-indexed publication.
